১৯৫৪ সালে জীবনানন্দের অকাল প্রয়াণের পর প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল ‘ঊষা’, বুব-র ‘কবিতা’ এবং ভূমেন্দ্র গুহ-জগদিন্দ্র মণ্ডলদের ‘ময়ূখ’-এর ‘জীবনানন্দস্মৃতি’ সংখ্যা। আর সব পত্রিকার প্রসঙ্গ ফিকে হয়ে এলেও ‘ময়ূখ’ জীবনানন্দ সংখ্যার গুরুত্ব গবেষকের কাছে, অনুসন্ধিৎসু পাঠকের কাছে আজও অম্লান। বলা যায় এই একটি সংখ্যার জন্যই সে-পত্রিকার নাম বাংলা কবিতার ইতিহাসে অমর হয়ে থাকবে।
কিন্তু আজকের পাঠক নাম শুনে থাকলেও চোখে দেখেনি কাগজটি। প্রায় ৬৮ বছর পর হুবহু সেই পত্রিকার ফ্যাকসিমিলি সংস্করণ আমরা প্রকাশ করতে পারলাম গবেষক প্রাবন্ধিক ড. মুহম্মদ মতিউল্লাহ্-র বিপুল পরিশ্রমে। প্রয়োজনীয় টীকাটিপ্পনীর পাশাপাশি সংযুক্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি ভূমিকায় তিনি ‘ময়ূখ’ ও জীবনানন্দের সম্পর্কসূত্রটি আজকের পাঠকের জন্য নির্ণয় করতে চেয়েছেন।
